Professor Borkovec received his PhD in Chemistry at Columbia University in 1986, and thereafter was working as a lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In 1998, he was appointed as an associate professor at Clarkson University, and was promoted to a full professor in the year 2000. He moved to Geneva shortly thereafter.
His main research focus is physical chemistry of colloids, surfaces, and polymers. He is also interested in applications of these topics in environmental engineering and industrial process control. You may inspect his publications and citations through Google Scholar or his ResearcherID C-6022-2014. He is elected member Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences and recepient of the Graham Prize.
